Inception & Elaboration Service

Inception & Elaboration Service for Information System

Using EasyWeb conceptual Framework, in collaboration with Domain Experts, and covering the role of Business Analyst and System Analyst, Ark IT provides Inception and Elaboration services (Inception & Elaboration phases of an Information System Development Cycle).

The provision of these services are based in RUP (Rational Unified Process) which are adopted for EasyWeb Conceptual Framework, EasyWeb Implementation Framework (If EasyWeb product is applied), and as well for the Organization specific case.

    2. Integration or Migration of current Systems or Data,
    3. Integration or information exchange with third party systems, if relevant.
  • Requirement Specification and suplementary requirements, including acceptance criteria and what is intended to be part of the IS and what is not.
  • Discriminating the critical use cases of the Information System and the primary scenarios of operation.
  • Exhibiting, and optionally demonstrating the realisation of some of the primary scenarios (if based in an EasyWeb product).
  • Estimating potential risks (the sources of unpredictability)
  • Preparing the supporting environment for the IS project.

Driven by Information System Domain and targeted Organization, this service in done from an ARK IT System Analyst in collaboration with a Domain Expert and representatives of the targeted Organization. The Domain Expert could be one of Ark IT business integrator partners or someone from the Organization as well.
The main outputs are: Requirement specifications, User Interface Prototypes, Bill of "Reusable/current/third party components", Requirements Management Plan.

Elaboration Services - Work Scope and Objectives

This service is provided only in case the targeted Organization has decided to use an EasyWeb product. It is a continuity of Inception Service, providing the next iteration (going in more details) around all activities and outputs of the inception, providing the first generation of the IS product. The main outputs include the EasyWeb Product profile selection, deployed and configured as specified during inception services, using reusable components and services.

Work Scope and Objectives within this service include:

1. Deployment of IS product as a stable baseline for the next generations product cycle:

  • Selection of appropriate EasyWeb product, reusable services, and configurations based in the Organization requirements.
  • Adoption of layout and presentation as defined during the inception services.
  • Development of User Interface Prototypes for use cases not covered from IS baseline product.
  • Development of Application Interface Prototypes (if not available) for use cases not covered from the IS baseline.
  • Migration of current organization metadata and data.
  • Preparing the supporting environment for the realization of use cases not covered from the IS baseline
  • Deployment of IS baseline, making it available to current stage end users.

In proposing any model or framework, it may be useful to note that "while all models are wrong, some are useful" (Box, 1979, p. 202).

The business itself and technology opportunities drive the “problem” definition, in terms of required Information(s) System, using EasyWeb deployed concepts.

The Scope in EasyWeb framework considers all aspects of the targeted organization to be aligned with business strategy and supported by the Information System.
